Why am I seeing a watermark using Dynamic Web TWAIN?

NOTE: This article is only applicable to version 11 and earlier. For version 12 and above, no watermark will be added.

Symptom:

When you import an image to the Dynamic Web TWAIN control, a watermark is added to the image.

Cause:

  1. The Edition of the SDK you are using doesn't support the OS or the browser.
  2. The trial license you are using expires or is invalid.
  3. The current product key does not match the domain. (For version 11.0 and above)

Solution:

For trial version users, if you see the watermark during the evaluation period, please feel free to email support[at]dynamsoft.com for an extension trial key.

In order to generate a proper new trial license for you, please include the following information in the email.

  1. Which operating systems (Windows, Mac) and browsers (IE, Chrome, Firefox, Safari) you're looking to support.
  2. How many servers (Production, Non-production) you will be deploying your application to.
  3. Whether you are interested in any add-ons (OCR, 1D/2D barcode reading, Webcam).

Based on your answers, our support team will send you the appropriate license.

 

If you'd like to pinpoint the specific reason for seeing the watermark, please also send us the ProductKey you are using, which could be found in the Resourcesdynamsoft.webtwain.config.js file.

Solution:

1. Please check the Edition Comparison and see if the Edition you have covers the your usage scenario.

2. If your are using the Cloud Licenses (or other kinds of Annual licenses), please check if the authorization expired.

3. Please make sure the full version is deployed properly on the web server.

4. Check if you set the ProductKey correctly at /Resources/dynamsoft.webtwain.config.js.

Note: You can get your licenses' information from:
1. The purchasing email, which is sent to the registered email from our sales team.
2. The Dynamsoft Customer Potal accounts.
Please note that only the accounts that are registered with the registered emails will record the licenses' information.
    • For Dynamic Web TWAIN v11.0 and above, please check the followings:

1). Is the ProductKey generated with a valid license for this version?
2). Does the ProdutKey match the domain? Please check the URL address bar for domain information.

  • For Dynamic Web TWAIN v10.x or v9.x, please feel free to contact our support team if you'd like to verify the ProductKey you are using.

5. If you input multiple ProductKey into the dynamsoft.webtwain.config.js, please please don't forget to separate them with semicolons like below.

Dynamsoft.WebTwainEnv.ProductKey = '4C24*****1FD8638;F384070A*****00000';

Important: Please make sure there's at least one ProductKey is generated by a Serial Number of the Core SDKs, such as ActiveX Edition, HTML5 Edition, Windows Edition, Mac Edition.
Otherwise, the watermark will be added on the images that imported to the viewer.
